• Media Advisory: James E. Duckworth Students Take On the Special Olympics Challenge

    UPPER MARLBORO, MDJames E. Duckworth Regional will host its annual Challenge Day on Friday.

    The Challenge Day goal is for students with severe or multiple disabilities to demonstrate their personal best in a motor activity. Students trained with peer coaches from neighboring elementary and middle schools to prepare for the event.

    This year, all 80 Duckworth students ranging from ages 5 to 21 will participate and compete in Baseball, Basketball Skills, Baton Relay, Bicycles, Bowling, Gymnastics, Hockey, Obstacle Course, Soccer Skills or Volleyball events. Each student-athlete will be recognized and celebrated during a special awards presentation.
